As a Roman Catholic Woman Priest (Suzanne Thiel) who attended the Parliament along with 8 other women priests, we were far from a "blemish!"on the conference! I personally stood at our exhibit booth
for the past four days and NOT ONE attendee made a negative comment. The world's major faiths and the numerous other colorful religious groups who attended the Parliament clearly are supportive of us, the Roman Catholic Womenpriests. (This includes the equal number of male attendees who stopped by our booth--and there were hundreds--who contacted us and gave their verbal support including several male Catholic priests who secretly whispered their words of encouragement.) It is time for the male-dominated Catholic Church to wake up. On a side note if the Salt Lake City diocese can call us a "blemish on the Parliament"--what would one call their Closed-Off-Curtained-Non-invitiing-Private Catholic Hospitality area? I didnt see any of the other major faith groups so privately portrayed and unwelcoming.
