Rita Lucey, a woman
priest and Prisoner of Conscience, was arrested on Saturday in Lumpkin, Georgia
by police in front of the "border" of the Stewart Detention in Lumpkin, the
largest for-profit prison housing immigrants in the US, in prison complex that
actually houses more immigrant prisoners than the entire population of the small
and poor town. It is run and operated by the infamous Corrections Corporation
of America.
Dressed as the Statue
of Liberty, Rita smiled as she was arrested.
Here are some pictures
of the march and protest at Stewart. Rita was one of 17 arrestees.
