In his book, A Bigger Table, John Pavlovitz proposes that when we encounter people whose religious beliefs, politics and behavior don't seem to be compatible with our own, we will be called out of our comfort zone. Jesus will always call us to stretch further than we are comfortable with, always seeking greater diversity, more justice, deeper renovation." (p.60) if we really believe that each person reflects the image of God, 'we will never hesitate to be a student of their lives and being unapologetic in seeing a facet of - who God is in them and even in the expression of their religion. Whatever is true about God will be revealed in our midst and it will testify to itself...We will be just be present and reverent in the face of it. The question becomes whether or not you can you unlearn enough to be OK with this. How much stretching are you comfortable with? If it isn't the kind of stretching that Jesus' disciples had to do, then you're probably not yet building what Jesus was building." p. 160.
The heart of the mission of the Association of Roman Catholic Women Priests is to reflect a theology of loving inclusivity in our membership, ministries and communities.
