Bless the God of Surprises With a Smile on Your Face, A Spiritual Practice- Bridget Mary Meehan ARCWP

"You pray in your distress and in your need. Would that you might also in the fullness of your joy and in your days of abundance."  Kahlil Gibran
Meehan family and friends gathering in Arlington Virginia at home of Sean and Nancy Meehan

Sister Joan Chittister reminds us that celebrating joy is one of the great practices of the spiritual life "It attests to the beauty of the present and asserts our confidence in the beauty of the future. When we celebrate the good things in life, we trace them to the creator who gives without merit, openhandedly , out of the very goodness of community, love and support that are by nature at the base of the human condition. (Sister Joan Chittister, The Breath of the Soul, pp. 60-62.)

This week in Ireland, Cousin John's daughter, Clare, is getting married.  Our family will gather in Portlaoise to celebrate the gift of their  loving commitment.

I bless the God of surprises with a smile on my face for all the goodness that I see in everyone I meet and everywhere I go.
