Presider: We gather in faith and hope. We celebrate the Transfiguration of Jesus. We recognize mystery in the experience of Peter, James and John on the mountain top. We travel deep into the Divine within us to understand how we too can experience the Transfiguration of Jesus. We believe with deep conviction that divisions will be healed. We bring a tender heart to the broken.. We celebrate the gift of life and we support one another on the journey…
Together we say…
ALL: AMEN

World without end. Amen

transformation. We reach out in tenderness and caring consistently encouraging and constantly instilling Faith in all those we meet. We especially care for those most in need, who suffer from war, their journey through life is a daily struggle we can’t imagine. The story of the Transfiguration gives us hope that we two can be changed and our image and convictions will reveal the power and presence of the Cosmic Christ. May all of humanity gain strength and peace of heart.
ALL SING: We are Holy, Holy, Holy…. You are…. I am… We are whole.
Presider: We are indeed a holy people. We recognize the Spirit of Light, ever present, ever in our midst, ever part of our very selves. We call forth blessings on this bread and wine as we remember who Jesus was and all that he did to challenge the powers of oppression in his time.
The night before Jesus died he shared the seder meal with the women and men he called disciples. Jesus stood, left the table and went to each one of them and washed their feet. Jesus then returned to the table. He took bread in his hands. He blessed the bread and gave praise, he broke the bread and passed it to all those who sat with him and said:
ALL: Take this bread blessed and broken. Eat. This is my very self. Do this often in memory of me.
After supper, Jesus poured a final cup of wine. He blessed the wine and passed it to those gathered with him saying:
Take and drink this wine. It is the cup of the new covenant. It
is my very life. Do this often in memory of me.
Presider: In sharing this bread and cup, let us embrace the Gospel of

justice and peace as we proclaim this mystery of our faith:
Presider: In every person, in every creature that has ever breathed,
ALL: Christ has lived;
Presider: In every living being that has passed on before us,
ALL: Christ has died;
Presider: In our sharing of the bread with one anotherTransfiguration,
ALL: Christ is with us still.
Voice 1: With grateful hearts we receive the gifts of this Table. May the Spirit who is one with us, fill us with vision as we live the Transfiguration of Jesus
Voice 2: In the spirit of this celebration, we rejoice in the Oneness we share. We bring to mind all who feel separated from this Table of Abundance.
Voice 3: Awaken in us, Holy One, a passion for equality and a generosity of spirit, that all may be accepted and welcomed in an inclusive community of faith.
Voice 4: For it is through learning to live as Jesus lived, and why he lived,
and for whom he lived, that we awaken to your Spirit within,
moving us to be one with you, Life-giving Sacred Spirit,
At this time and all time and in all ways.
Amen! (Sing)
Presider: When the disciples ask Jesus to teach them HOW to pray He spoke the “Our Father” This prayer is a guideline of how we too can pray: Let us pray together as Jesus taught his disciples:
7.
O Holy One, you are within, around, and among us.
We celebrate your many names.
Your wisdom come, your will be done,
Unfolding from the depths within us.
Each day you give us all that we need.
You remind us of our limits, and we let go.
You support us in our power, and we act with courage.
For you are the dwelling place within us,
The empowerment around us,
And the celebration among us,
now and forever. Amen.
Presider: Please join in prayer as this bread is broken for all:
ALL: Loving God:
You call us to live the Gospel of peace and justice.
We will live justly.
You call us to be Your presence in the world.
We will love tenderly.
You call us to speak truth to power.
We will walk with integrity in your presence.
Presider: This is the bread of life and the cup of blessing. Through it we are nourished and we nourish one another.
ALL: What we have heard with our ears, we will live with our lives; as we share communion, we will become communion. We are both Love’s nourishment and Love’s challenge. Amen

Readings
Second Sunday of Lent
First Reading: Genesis 12:1-4
God said to Abram, “Go forth from the land of your kinfolk and from the house familiar to you to a land that I wll show you.
“I will make you a great nation,
and I will bless you;
I will make your name great,
and it will be used to bless others.
I will bless those who bless you
and curse those who curse you.
All the families of the earth
will be blessed in you.”
Sara and Abram went as God directed, and Lot went with them.
Abram was seventy-five years old when they left Haran.
The inspired word by the authors of Genesis. And the people said.
Amen
Psalm 33
Response: The Creator is Love and Understanding.
For the word of the Creator is faithful,/and all God’s works are to be trusted.
The Creator loves justice and right/and fills the earth with love.
Response: The Creator is Love and Understanding.
The Creator looks on those who stand in reverence,
On those who hope in God’s love,
To rescue their souls from death,/to keep them alive in famine.
Response: The Creator is Love and Understanding.
Our soul is waiting for God,/ our help and our shield.
In the Creator our hearts find joy./ We trust in God’s holy Name.
May your love be upon us, O God,/as we place all our hope in You.
Response: The Creator is Love and Understanding.
Second Reading: 2 Timothy 1:8-10
So do not be ashamed to give your testimony avbout Christ, and do not be ashamed of me, Christ’s prisoner. But join with me in suffering for the Gospel, by the power of God, who has saved us and called us to a holy life—-not because of anything we have done, but because of God’s own
purpose and grace. This grace was given to us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time, but it has now been revealed through the appearing of Jesus, who was put to death, and yet cintinued to bring to light and understanding through the Gospel.
This is the inspired word of the disciple Timothy. And the people say,
AMEN
A reading from the Gospel of Matthew
Reading from Mathew, 17th Chapter
Six days later, Jesus took Peter and the brothers, James and John, and led them up a high mountain alone. Suddenly, His face shone like the sun, and his appearance was transformed before their very eyes, his face shone like the sun, and his clothes became white as the light. Then they realized that Moses and Elijah were also there in deep conversation with Jesus.
Peter broke in and interruped, “Master, this a great moment! What would you think if I built three tents here on the mountain - one for you, one for Elijah, one for Moses”
While he was going on like this babbling, a light-radiant cloud enveloped them, and sounding from deep in the cloud a voice: “This is the child of humanity, my son, marked by my love, focus of my delight. Listen to him”
When the disciples heard it, they fell flat on their faces, scared to death. But Jesus came over and touched them. “Don’t be afraid.” When they opened their eyes and looked around all they saw was Jesus, only Jesus.
Coming down the mountain, Jesus swore them to secrecy. “Don’t breathe a word of what you’ve seen. After the Son of Man is raised from the dead, you are free to talk.”
These are the inspired word of the apostle Mathew, and the people say
AMEN
