Dear Senator,
Alarmed by 22 mass shootings and 374 dead, including the recent horrific murders of 19 elementary age children and 2 teachers in Uvalde, Texas, and 10 black people in a grocery store in Buffalo, we urge you to take immediate action to pass strong gun safety laws.
Our Catholic Community in Sarasota is joining- with people of faith and no faith -to demand the outlaw of assault weapons, and bump stocks, the creation of strong red flag laws and effective, national and state background checks. In addition, we support more of our tax dollars spent on effective mental health programs.
No one needs military-style assault weapons that are designed to slaughter humans in minutes and render their remains recognizable sometimes only by DNA.
You can choose the protection of people over the corporate profits of the gun lobby. You can help stop this soul-numbing madness that has destroyed so many lives.
