Women priests are a fresh stirring of the Spirit -embodying new life and a spiritual revolution in the RC Church -to heal centuries- old misogyny!
We are a movement that embraces a spirituality of divine inclusivity-honoring the sacred light that is present in all people and in all creation- in which oneness with Divinity is revealed in the heartbeat of every person and in everything that has been created.
Women Priests embrace a spirituality of inclusivity rooted in living in sacred relationship with everyone and everything. We are living a spirituality of intimacy connecting us with the natural world blessing the world. We promote a universal mystical oneness and co-responsibility in the community of life
We build a bridge of compassion and reconciliation by making connections between hurting hearts and broken spirits at the disengaged edges of Catholicism to create a Church for everyone.
Women priests challenge injustices and act with courage to change the oppressive structures of domination and harmful teachings.
Prophetic leader Sun Kyi’s advices that in the face of complex circumstances and injustices to:
“Don’t just stand there despairing, She says, do something!”
Just start somewhere!
This is what the international Roman Catholic Women Priests Movement has been doing for 22 years since seven women were ordained on the Danube in 2002!!
We are following Jesus’ example of Gospel hospitality. He ate with the excluded members of society: tax collectors, women, and sinners.
Women Priests invite all to receive sacraments-including those who feel abandoned by the hierarchical church such as divorced and remarried persons and LGBTQ+- to receive sacraments. All rule breakers are welcome!
We know that our identification with the marginalized and excluded is a threat to the RC hierarchy.
Jesus , Gandhi, Romero, Sister Dorothy Kazel, Sister Ita Ford, Sister Maura Clark and Jean Donovan- the 4 women murdered in El Salvador- were also a threat to those in power.
Over the centuries, many women were burned as witches because their wisdom and healing practices threatened the holders of patriarchal power.
Roman Catholic Women Priests are here now as prophetic witnesses leading the Church in rebirthing a renewed Catholic Church for everyone. As Pope Francis said, the Church must be a Church for all- "todus, todus!
This is our journey, mission and vision- to be the change we want to see happen- in a church where all are equal and all are loved and all can find a spiritual home.
