Matthew Fox Some notes from lectures by Matthew Fox at Symposium Jesus we are here to wake up. Matthew sees the rise of women in politics and leadership, particularly Roman Catholic Women Priests as an example of women who will not take "no" for an answer. He said that "the divine goddess is back and she is pissed!" His major point was patriarchy kills creativity. We need to reclaim the divine feminine and the sacred masculine. We need to start over with Jesus- compassion, justice and love. The kingdom is already here. We need to see everyone in a glorious, luminous state- shining like the sun. We need to shift education from knowledge factories to wisdom schools. It is important to to teach the mystics and to integrate the intuitive with the rational to create a more wholistic approach to learning and spiritual development. If you are in love, why are you asleep? Matt shared that while he was condemned by previous popes, Pope Francis's Letter on the Environment- Laudato Si was written by Fr. Sean McDonagh, one of Matthew Fox's students. So he joked he has moved from condemnation by John Paul 11 to plagiarism by Pope Francis! |
Noirin Ni Rianin presides at Liturgy on Sunday Noirin shared beautiful ritual, poetry, song, chanting and music. Accompanied by her sons, Owen and Moley, she facilitated a mystical prayer ritual that touched our souls. Listen to this rendition of chant of the Beatitudes. She quoted poetry by John O'Donohue "may you know the urgency God longs for you." |

Antiphon: Amen! Truly, I say to you, gather in my name, I am with you.
Blessed are the poor in spirit, the kingdom of Heaven is theirs.
Blessed are the gentle, they shall inherit the land.
Antiphon: Amen! Truly, I say to you, gather in my name, I am with you.
Blessed are those who mourn, they shall be consoled.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for justice, the justice of God shall be theirs.
Antiphon: Amen! Truly, I say to you, gather in my name, I am with you.
Blessed are the merciful, mercy shall be show unto them.
Blessed are the pure of heart, they shall behold their God.
Antiphon: Amen! Truly, I say to you, gather in my name, I am with you.
Blessed are those who bring peace, they shall be children of God.
Blessed are those who suffer in the cause of right,
the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs.
Antiphon: Amen! Truly, I say to you, gather in my name, I am with you.
