| Matthew Fox Some notes from lectures by Matthew Fox at Symposium Jesus we are here to wake up. Matthew sees the rise of women in politics and leadership, particularly Roman Catholic Women Priests as an example of women who will not take "no" for an answer. He said that "the divine goddess is back and she is pissed!" His major point was patriarchy kills creativity. We need to reclaim the divine feminine and the sacred masculine. We need to start over with Jesus- compassion, justice and love. The kingdom is already here. We need to see everyone in a glorious, luminous state- shining like the sun. We need to shift education from knowledge factories to wisdom schools. It is important to to teach the mystics and to integrate the intuitive with the rational to create a more wholistic approach to learning and spiritual development. If you are in love, why are you asleep? Matt shared that while he was condemned by previous popes, Pope Francis's Letter on the Environment- Laudato Si was written by Fr. Sean McDonagh, one of Matthew Fox's students. So he joked he has moved from condemnation by John Paul 11 to plagiarism by Pope Francis! |

| Sister Ilia Delio OSF gave two major presentations and preached the homily at Liturgy Notes from her talks: We need to wake up to our deeply entangled lives. Evolution is not the background to the human story. It is the human story. We are unfinished. We are being created and are creating. Love is the most powerful and still most unknown energy. Religion and evolution are one. She quoted Chardin. "Who will give evolution its own God?' The pure glory of God is in everything, in me and in all of us. Love is what God is , our deepest reality and deepest reality of God life. Think of Trinity as logic of 3, Lover- Beloved and Co-Beloved. Communion of persons in love, open to creativity and newness. What is the meaning of Christ in a world that is coming to be? Incarnation- God becoming God in us. God is found in matter. Divine love is immerse in the chaos of life. God and humanity are entangled. God needs our consciousness to rise up in us. The only way forward is on the inside to become a mystic. We are God birthers. God is becoming God in us in the fullness of life and in the web of love. Love and serve with passion . I am, may you be! |
