"William D'Antonio, a Catholic sociologist said that the percentage of Catholics who say they are "religious" has dropped from 74 to 60 percent in just the past five years.
"It's more than semantics. {Decades agao} we really, really believed if you didn't go to Mass , you'd go to hell. There was a belief that the church had a structure that would get you to heaven if you followed the rules...
