Opening Prayer*

Both: Holy mystery, Dena and Katy gather together today to celebrate the anniversary of our ordinations. With God’s grace we were called to the priesthood, we responded “Yes to your call to our souls.” And we once again, say “Yes” to our loving God and brother Jesus Christ who is our Way.

Seeking Healing and Wholeness

Response Sing: Veni Sancte Spiritus

Dena: Spirit of Love, come upon our Association of Roman Catholic Women Priests’ community and dwell among us.

Katy: Spirit of Joy and hospitality, teach us individually and as Your community to be open, welcoming, loving and kind.

Dena: Spirit of Compassion, instill in us Your respect for all life and loving care for all creation.

Katy: Spirit of Hope, help us to detach ourselves from any hindrance on our journey towards healing and wholeness.

Katy: I waited patiently for the Beloved, who heard my cry and came to me. Love raised me from the pits of despair, out of confusion and fear, and set my feet upon a rock making my steps secure. There is a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to the Beloved.

Dena: O Beloved, how wondrous are your gifts to us; your thoughts are beyond our imagination. What joy to live in Oneness with You! Were we to proclaim and tell of Your beauty and blessed grace, who could measure it? My heart affirms my surrender; in the Book of Life, it is written: “I abandon myself into your hands, for I love You and wish only to create with You, O my Beloved; For You are the Life of my life forever.”

Katy : I aspire to reveal your steadfast love and truth through the witness of my life. The Gospel for this Celebration

A Reading from the holy gospel according to Luke...and by Dena O’Callaghan ARCWP

It was a clear, sunny day as Jesus walked along the shore of the Sea of Galilee. He entered the house of Simon Peter and spoke to his mother-in-law whom He had just healed. "Come with Me" and preach the good news in other towns, for you have been brought to new life for the sake of the Reign of God.

Soon afterward He came to a town called Naim and there he saw a distraught widow who wept over her dead son. After Jesus raised the man to life again, He said to the widow, "Come with Me to show compassion and healing to all those who mourn.

A Pharisee in the crowd invited Jesus to dine at his house. While there, a woman, known to be a sinner, knelt at His feet, weeping and kissing him. She anointed him with oil and Jesus said to her, "Come with Me" to preach the good news of forgiveness to all sinners. Your faith has been your salvation.

Continuing his journey, Jesus called other women in the crowd who assisted Him out of their means. "Come with Me" Mary Magdalene of Cana, and you Joanna, wife of Herod's steward and you, Susanna. Show the world that women are called to be my disciples.

As Jesus continued on the way, a woman suffering from a hemorrhage touched the tassel of his cloak. Jesus bent over, lifted her up and said, "Come with Me" Be at my side to show how faith in me can cure you. Be at peace, my daughter.

The following day, as the crowd me them, a woman cried out, "Teacher I beg you to look at my son, my only child. An evil spirit took hold of him." Jesus rebuked the spirit and said to the mother, "Come with Me" to preach the gospel of healing and good spirit.

Jesus then entered the village of his friends, Martha and Mary. They welcomed Him for respite and a meal. Jesus said to them, "Come with Me" Mary. You are to preach the Word of God.

And "Come with Me" Martha, You are to preside at the table of my Body and Blood.

While he was saying this a woman in the crowd called out, "Blest is the womb that bore you and the breasts that nursed you." Jesus said, "Come with Me". Proclaim your womanly message to the world so all will believe.

Later, on a sabbath day Jesus was teaching in the synagogue. There was a woman there who had been possessed by a spirit who kept her bent over. Jesus laid his hands on her. She immediately stood up straight and began thanking God. Jesus said to her, "Come with Me." Teach others to be thankful for all God's blessings and acts of loving embrace.

Finally, Jesus told the crowd a Parable of the Prodigal Family.

"A married couple had two children, a girl and a boy. One of them strayed,

It doesn't matter which one, Both are children of God.

Both are created in the image and likeness of God.

Both are called to preach God's Word.

Both are called to change their ways...

and to change the bread and wine into the

Body and Blood of Christ...




Jesus continues his journey of Call in our age.

Our Loving God, in Jesus' name and in the Holy Spirit,

has called Dena and Katy to priestly ministry and ordination

with the Association of Roman Catholic Women Priests.

They said YES to God and became priest-partners...

...proclaiming God's Word

...presiding at God's Table

...forgiving sin

...anointing the sick and dying

...burying the dead.

Profession of Faith.



Both: We believe in Holy Mystery our Creator, Sustainer and nurturer of all communities calling us to serve our brothers and sisters, no one excluded. We believe in Jesus Christ our Brother and Beloved Son of God who through His Compassionate Love taught us to minister to all whom He places before us.




We believe in the Holy Spirit, the breath of Wisdom Sophia leading us on our evolutionary spiritual journeys individually and in our community. Sophia who calls us to be priestly persons as we minister for justice, peace and equality with our own lives and in our communities.




We believe in the Communion of Saints our heavenly friends and family, who support our ministries on our life’s journey. We believe we are One with all the families of the world. We believe we are One with the Pilgrim People of God with Sophia your Spirit guiding us as we live our ministries in the Holy Mystery of creation. This we truly believe.




Prayers of the People of God

Dena: O Great Love, thank you for living and loving in and through us. May all that we do flow from our deep connection with you and all beings. Help us become a community that vulnerably shares each other’s burdens and the weight of glory.

Dena: Blessed are you, Holy Mystery, Creator of our ARCWP faith communities. This bread is your faith community living as your priestly people with faith in your divine providence. Through your grace and mercy, we have this bread to offer, it will become for us the Bread of Life. ALL: Praise to God, blessing your priestly people.




Katy: Blessed are you, Holy Mystery, Creator of all. This wine is our desire to gather in prayer and worship, sharing of our life journey and living our faith and hope in all our priestly ministries. Through your grace and mercy, we have this wine to offer, it will become our spiritual drink. ALL: Praise to God, blessing your priestly people.




Both: Blessed are you, God who calls us to be priests, through your goodness we have this bread and wine and our own lives to offer. Through this sacred meal and the gifts of joy, peace and hope of Jesus, may we become your Priestly Presence for all whom we meet. Amen.
