I agree that Fr. Roy's public brush with being de-frocked is good for the women priests movement. Hooray for Fr. Roy, and I look forward to his coming to Sarasota in Feb.
However, I would prefer for articles to be written about the real subject: can women be priests? We are blessed locally with Bishop Bridget Mary Meehan. Bridget Mary leads a parish by welcoming people's gifts and weaving a community, while leaving space for the blowing of the spirit. That's a description of a priest. I look forward to the time when articles are written focusing on that fact, which flies in the face of the Vatican's dogma.
