I was recently interviewed by Service Leader Tracy Donohue who is also the worship committee chair at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Greenville for one of their Sunday sermons. There is no copy of the interview but it went very well. One question I remember her asking was around the Pope’s Interview on 60 Minutes where he shuts the door on women’s ordination. My reply:
“Well, first off, Francis says a lot of things. He seems to like saying controversial things. We know that the majority of practicing Catholics support the ordination of women. During my priestly formation I received strong support from nuns and priests. It was clear to me and them that the path I was on was because I was being faithful to the teachings I learned in my Catholic formation. I think it is inevitable that one day women will be ordained in the Catholic Church. When that day is, I have no idea. ”
