Archbishop Dolan rips New York Times coverage of Pope July 27, 2010
Singling out The New York Times, Archbishop Timothy Dolan of New York blasted media coverage of the Vatican’s revised norms for the clerical abuse of minors and other exceptionally serious crimes.
...“It is a source of consternation as to why, instead of complimenting the Vatican and a reformer like Pope Benedict XVI, for codifying procedures long advocated by critics, such outfits would instead choose to intrude on a matter of internal doctrine, namely the ordination of women.”
Archbishop Dolan, "you cannot justify the Vatican's attack on Womenpriests. Sexism is a Sin. It is time to follow Jesus example of Gospel equality. Jesus did not ordain anyone . The Vatican's Pontifical Biblical Commission in 1976 concluded that there is nothing to prohibit women's ordination in the bible. The emperor has no clothes! Stop blaming the New York Times.
The ordination of women is not a crime. It is a disgrace that the Vatican would come out with such a mysogynist statement. It is absolute theological nonsense, and you know it!
Roman Catholic Womenpriests are faithful members of our church. We are not leaving the Catholic Church and no punishment will push us out. We are leading the church into a new era of justice and equality for women in the church. We are the "Rosa Parks" of the Catholic Church, disobeying an unjust law and following our consciences. We are not going away! We are growing!
We will endure and justice will triumph!
We love the church and are in the process of changing it into a renewed vibrant, people-empowed model in grassroots communities.

Last I checked, Jesus selected twelve male Apostles. Guess that makes our God a sexist?
"Jesus did not ordain anyone."
Umm, what? He selected twelve Apostles. He commissioned men to prepare his way and to have authority over unclean spirits. Some biblical scholar you are, B.M. Let's pretend for a moment that your false argument is indeed true. Ok, then what the hell are you fighting for? Oh that's right, ordination.
"The Vatican's Pontifical Biblical Commission in 1976 concluded that there is nothing to prohibit women's ordination in the bible."
And they have what authority exactly? What did Pope Paul VI conclude? What did Pope John Paul II conclude? What did Pope Benedict as Card. Ratzinger declare to be a part of the deposit of faith? I think these three trump your little commission.
The ordination of women is not a crime.
In the American legal sense, no. In the Church sense, yes.
It is a disgrace that the Vatican would come out with such a mysogynist statement.
I think your consistently anti-male Web site is worse, but ok.
"Roman Catholic Womenpriests are faithful members of our church."
Ha ha ha...
We are growing!
The rapidly increasing age of people in your movement suggests otherwise.
We love the church and are in the process of changing it into a renewed vibrant, people-empowed model in grassroots communities.
If you hate almost everything about the Church, love is not a word I would use to describe your sentiments about Her.
Bridget Mary,
Please ignore the vile invective put out by those who oppose you. Those who claim to be followers of Jesus and come against others with hatred are so wrong. God bless you.
David
Mike,
Great, great post! Keep up the good work! I especially liked the "Jesus never ordained anyone---what are you fighting for then?"
Dtedac,
I see nothing vile or hateful in what Mike wrote. I see a good critique of BM's post, but no real hate or vile. I don't hate BM either.
Those who hate tend to use force, fear, and coersion in order to gain converts. I don't see Mike using fear, coersion, and force, and I certainly would never use coersion, fear, or force in order to win converts.
Bridget Mary,
If you all were not doing such a GREAT JOB of changing the world with God's Love of all, these other fear mongers would not be checking your blog all the time !
So in short, these highly educated (hmmm) scholars (hmmm) and commentary post persons are just HATERS !
They probably wear those big HATER BLOCKER sun glasses when they go around anyone or anywhere of a different opinion !
David, you are so CHRISTIAN CATHOLIC and CORRECT in your statement about Vile invectives.
Again to all the supporters, why are these other persons trying to defy God's Word by continuing to interpret it in their own limited pea sized brains ?
Answer: The are scared of including everyone and have already lost their power !
Women Priests are in the Catholic Church and in great standing in the all loving, ever inclusive, embracing Lord Jesus Christ's Heart.
Those who claim to follow and then dissect ever word to try to twist, trample and torment the Word of our precious God are not followers of Jesus. The Men and Women of the Catholic Church in America, are and have accepted many gracious God serving Women as priests. Surveys nationwide show that THE PEOPLE of GOD are accepting the service of married priests and Women priests. Rome can not control this. The PEOPLE are the Catholic Church.
Keep up the great work RWCP, serve the Lord and serve the Church - not the buildings in Rome. Serve the people as our Lord demands !
Keep on marching Bridget Mary !
And to the Haters ...It is not good for your health to get so filled with the ugliest of uglies - stop the hatred. Just pray and ask Our Lord to open your heart to the abundant love that Jesus gives us all. I am sure that Our Lord will work all of this out without needing the hatred from a group of disgruntled persons. You have choices of where you go to Mass, just avoid things/places you do not like if you can not act in a Jesus like manner. There are still so many parishes. Room for everyone.
Free yourself of the burden of hatred.
Crusader,
What fear mongering? Please produce evidence of fear mongering.
Do you see those of us who disagree with BM "fear mongering?" What fear mongering do you have in mind?
People are accepting married priests? That is good- since there are many married priests who are in communion with Rome and serve in parishes and other assignments. Married priests, sir, are a reality, just not the norm. I never said I had a problem with the concept of married clergy, but I do defend the concept of priestly celibacy as the norm of priestly life.
People are accepting women priests? Since Jesus never ordained anyone, according to BM, then how can they accept something that does not exist?
Even so- what individual people accept or do not accept does not impact revealed truth. God's Truth is objective and stands independant of people's acceptance of it. It is like saying "Well, shucks, I mean an increasing amount of people accept that the Earth is flat." So what? The Earth is still round.
"If you all were not doing such a GREAT JOB of changing the world with God's Love of all, these other fear mongers would not be checking your blog all the time ! "
The orthodox blogs must be that much more effective since they seem to receive more "hate" comments than you claim to get here.
Orthodox blogs ? What are they and which ones do you want to advertise ?
Maybe Bridget Mary could comment on them ? I doubt it, because who wants to read about something they do not care about.
Which just goes to show you all once again what a GREAT JOB Bridget Mary is doing along with many organization like RCWP and of coarse ..The ever loving Holy Spirit and Our Lord Jesus Christ !
The Church belongs to Jesus, not 'us'. He bought and paid for it with His own blood, so the idea that the Church is 'ours' to be taken back is nonsense. It is pride and disobedience to do what these girls are doing. It endangers their souls as the Church has clearly stated that excommunication is the penalty for this kind of foolishness.
