I am a Roman Catholic layman who is concerned about the Vatican trying to convince people that the exclusively male priesthood has been infallibly defined as revealed truth.
It is time to recognize that patriarchy preceded the most ancient biblical texts by thousands of years, and contaminated them all with a patriarchal bias that is totally anthropogenic and totally unrelated to divine revelation.
Once this is recognized, patriarchal ecclesiastical practices and laws (e.g., canon 1024) are exposed as what they are: artifacts made by human hands which bounded Jesus in his earthly mission to the people of Israel but should no longer bound the church in seeking the glory of God and the good of souls.
