A Prayer to Our Lady of Guadalupe for Healing and Strength in Times of Trouble and Chaos by Rev. Dr. Bridget Mary Meehan, ARCWP

Holy Mary of Guadalupe,
Icon of the Divine Feminine
you who came clothed in the symbols of the goddess of earth and sky,
speaking tenderness in a wounded world,
we come to you now in this time of trouble, chaos, and deep longing for healing.

Prophet of God’s Preferential Love for the Poor,
You know the suffering of the marginalized and the excluded.
You see the pain carried in bodies, families, communities, and nations.
You hear the cries of those whose dignity has been denied
and whose voices have been silenced.
In this moment of fear and fragmentation,
we trust your promise: you are here with us.

Mary of Survival and Resistance,
Wrap us in your mantle of compassion and fierce tenderness.
Hold us close when anxiety, grief, and uncertainty threaten to overwhelm us.
Remind us that the Holy dwells not in domination or control
but in presence, accompaniment, and luminous love.

Midwife of Justice,
When the world feels unstable and hope feels fragile,
stand with us as you stood with an oppressed people—
grounded, courageous, and filled with determination.
may we speak truth to power, resist injustice with non-violence ,
and choose service to the suffering again and again.

Mother of the People,
you reveal Spirit persistence
a power that heals, restores, and never abandons.
accompany us into every place of brokenness to:
heal wounded hearts and weary bodies,
as we move through trauma to wholeness.

Companion in the Struggle,
awaken in us a deep trust that transformation is already unfolding.
as we work in solidarity with our sisters and brothers throughout the world for justice and equity,
and an earth where all will flourish.

Amen.
