"Mary Magdalene Apostle Catholic Community ordained a female pastor Saturday, risking excommunication despite assertions that it represents the true roots of Roman Catholicism.

Nancy Corran was ordained by roughly 150 parishioners rather than a bishop. The ceremony at a rented church in Serra Mesa hearkened back to ancient communities that called forth and ordained women, some religious scholars said"....

"despite assertions that it represents the true roots of Roman Catholicism."

What about respecting the authority of the apostles, especially the successor of St. Peter?

"Nancy Corran was ordained by roughly 150 parishioners rather than a bishop."

B.M. might be out of a job if this trend continues.

The ceremony at a rented church in Serra Mesa hearkened back to ancient communities that called forth and ordained women, some religious scholars said"

Some scholars say Jesus wasn't crucified but killed on a pole. Just become "some religious scholars" say something doesn't mean that it's true. In fact this is most likely false.

Hey Everybody !

Let's give Mike a badge and make him the "Catholic Church Police" or the "Mass Police".

If he were not so upset about the Holy Spirit calling women to the Catholic Priesthood, he might actually be able to use his time helping the Church reach out to others.

POWER, power, POWER, keep tightly squezin and screaming Mike. The more you do, the more the Holy Spirit fills our hearts with Joy and calls us forward to be prophets within the Catholic Priesthood of Jesus Christ !

Sure, go ahead and dissect everyone's statements and stories. It will not change the power of the Holy Spirit within the calling of many women !

Have a great week everyone !

Crusader,

Only if we can give you a badge labeling you "The Liberal Police."

The community ordained a women? If by that BM simply means "Set apart for serve in the community" then BM would be correct. If this is what BM means, then more accurately she should say "Congregation commissions female pastor."

If however BM means "ordains" in the sense of "Bestows the gift of Ministerial Priesthood" on the female, BM would be incorrect. In the first place the Church has no authority to confer orders upon women. In the second place, even if the Church did have this power, the power is in the office of the Episcopacy, not the community.

Okay Guys,
I can not be the LIBERAL POLICE - that is supposed to be you or Mike. And I do not consider myself or my family liberals. I do not even like the word - ecck !

Apologist - you are trying so hard to say what YOU "think" Bishop Bridget Mary is saying or thinking. Why don't you just ASK a question without giving a summarized answer from your point of view. Save that dissection for later a later part of the post. Just ASK and she will probably write it on her page ! Simple way to communicate without trying to suppose her idea or statement.

Then afterwards you get to reply or summarize. It is a simple debating concept structure and it would demonstrate a genuine path toward communication .

I do not want to be the Kindergarten Cop of TAKE TURNS !

A) Offer me proof that the Holy Spirit has called these women. Oh wait, you can't. Your proof is as good as the man down the street who jumps off a bridge because he thinks God told him to do it.
B) I do much to help others. I do not wish to boast of my good works like you progressives frequently do.
