The Time for Change is Now---Catholic Women: Go on Strike Saturday June 22, 2019

Women demonstrated outside the chancery office of the Archdiocese of Portland, Oregon, this Saturday June 22^nd.  

Spearheaded by Tricia Zigrang (dressed in white) these women joined other Catholic women in parts of Germany, Austria and Switzerland who have recently called attention to the patriarchal practices and misogyny in the Roman Catholic Church.

Some of the protesters are encouraging women who do all the work in parishes to refuse to enter church buildings or take part in Mass or other services and to stop doing all the grunt work for the Church until women can be truly recognized as equal in leadership and ministries.
