Archbishop of Madrid Forbids Spanish Roman Catholic Woman Priest, Christina Moreira ARCWP From Speaking to a Catholic Community in Spain, Christina Leads the Way Toward Justice and Equality in the Church
Christina Moreira ARCWP

Bridget Mary's Response:
Justice is rising up for women who are leading the way toward a more inclusive, egalitarian Roman Catholic Church. The Risen Christ appeared first to Mary of Magdala and called her to be the apostle to the apostles. So, too, today, women are called to be priests in a discipleship of equals in a renewed church. Why is the Bishop of Madrid afraid of  a courageous woman priest, Christina Moreira ARCWP who is sharing the good news of the Risen Christ for 21st century Catholics. God created women and men as equals and therefore, the Roman Catholic Church must open all ministries and decision-making roles including the priesthood to women.

"Last March, the Archbishopric of Santiago already denied the validity of the masses Moreira claimed to offer in the Home Novo community in La Coruña. Moreira is the only Spanish member of the Association of Roman Catholic Presbyterian Women.

Speaking to La Voz de Galicia, the woman said that canon law does not prevent her from officiating these masses despite the fact that the Church excommunicated her after being ordained a presbyter..."
