demand the end of racial gerrymandering and to demand: New Maps and Fair
Maps, NOW! And a 2017 special election -
"When even a conservative-led U.S. Supreme Court has unanimously affirmed
that North Carolina's General Assembly is racially gerrymandered, it's time
for people responsible for this discrimination to stop their stonewalling,
draw new maps, and hold an election in 2017," said Heather Hazelwood of
IndivisiblesNC. "Not only have the politicians subverted democracy with a
corrupt redistricting process, but they've also tried to pack as many
African-American voters into as few districts as possible to dilute their
political voice. This discrimination must be corrected immediately with new
district maps and an election in 2017." -
