St. Thérèse of Lisieux,
Today, on your feast day, October 1st,
we honor you as the Little Flower and patron of women priests.
You longed to serve Christ with your whole heart
and dreamed of priestly ministry.
Walk with women today who hear God’s call to priesthood.
Give us courage when doors are closed,
joy when the road is difficult,
and trust in the Spirit who continues to call.
Scatter your roses upon women priests
and all who work for Gospel equality in our Church.
May every sacred calling be welcomed,
every gift honored,
and every barrier to women’s full equality fall away.
Open the doors.
Let the Spirit lead us forward.
Amen.
