Time's Up!

Catholics Demand Truth
http://bridgetmarys.blogspot.com/2018/09/lynn-kinlan-guilderland-member-of-upper.html

Join us as we demand truth, transparency, and accountability from Catholic leaders.

When: September 8 & 9, 2018

Where: Organize in your diocese

What: Demonstrate for truth, transparency, and accountability from Catholic prelates who covered up clergy sex abuse.

Why: On August 14, a Grand Jury in Pennsylvania released a report detailing the abuse suffered by over 1,000 child victims, and names over 300 Catholic priests as credibly accused. In addition to the individual crimes, the report shed light on the decades long effort of Catholic Church officials to shield the perpetrators from prosecution, and generally hide details of the crimes from the public.

Who: Concerned Catholics will lead a prayer service and demonstration.

Speak your mind! Bring a sign!

Why we are demonstrating

  • Justice for survivors is paramount. We need
  • Civil investigations of clergy sexual abuse in every state.
  • To eliminate age limits for victims to report.
  • To eliminate non-disclosure agreements that bind victims from speaking about the abuse they have suffered.
  • A tightening of laws that require professionals to report abuse
  • An end to agreements that bar victims from cooperating in criminal prosecutions.

  • Catholics are calling on the U.S. Bishops and Pope Francis to unseal all documents related to clergy sex abuse cover up and to conduct a full, immediate, and independent investigation of any and all allegations of cover up.

  • Catholics are demanding that any investigation must be led by laity in order to re-establish trust with Catholics in the U.S. and elsewhere.
